ABOUT NIKKI...

Nikki Schmith is the current president of the American Hemerocallis Society's largest region - Region 2. She is a senior exhibition judge, a garden judge and is currently training to be an exhibition clinic instructor. At the national level, she is the AHS Media Librarian and serves on the Exhibitions, Judges Education and Technology committees. Locally, she is a member of the Southern Michigan Daylily Society, the host club to the 2011 Region 2 Summer Meeting. She started her daylily collection in 1994 and has never looked back.  Her postage-stamp sized city garden, which now contains around 250 daylily cultivars and hundreds of other perennials and various unique container plantings, were recently featured in the magazine The Michigan Gardener. 

In her 9 to 5 job, she is a trainer and education specialist for Ford Motor Company, proudly working at Ford's World Headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan. But her "real job" is a mother, wife, daughter and daylily addict in an amazing and active family. She is a two-time Best In Show winner of AHS accredited exhibition shows and has won head table awards in many other shows. It is no secret that exhibiting daylilies and being a daylily ambassador is her passion.

Nikki likes to integrate technology as a fun gardening tool. Whether it is using PowerPoint, Camtasia, Facebook, Photoshop or Blogger, she likes to share new ways to use your computer and your daylilies together. For 2010, Nikki will be highlighting the program "Blogging with Daylilies." In this program, she will guide the audience through the whats, whos and whys of blogging and will demonstrate how easy it is to go from zero to blog in no time flat!

She is available and interested in giving digital presentations to groups of all size on daylilies, judging, the American Hemerocallis Society, exhibiting daylilies, and integrating technology with daylilies.  She can be seen this year in Nashville, Valdosta, Cincinnati, Chicago, northern Ohio and many cities in Michigan presenting on those topics.  Contact her for a complete schedule.  Living by her motto of "If you are going to do something, do it big," she brings excitement and passion to all she meets.
