Daylily Haiku Thursday

o, to only be
resilient.  brilliant.
for twenty-four hours.

  1. The body of the dragonfly reminds me of the patina on an Art Deco skyscraper in New York City, and the wings look like stained glass a la Frank Lloyd Wright. The drenched petals are discarded opera costumes made of crushed-velvet and silk gauze that were worn by the chorus in a production of The Merry Widow.
